Our partners are the bodies who, in one way or another, share the common development
agenda of the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (EACCIA) and
are actively or potentially engaged in partnership activities with EACCIA. The following are
some of the organizations with whom we have signed collaborative MOUs\/Agreements as
one of the ways in which we can serve the business community in the Eastern Africa Region

THE AFRICA BUSINESS COUNCIL( AfBC)<\/strong>
The AfBC is considered as the premier advocacy arm and platform for private sector
cooperation and engagement at the African continental level, along with ensuring regular
inclusive dialogue with the African Union. The Africa Business Council ( AfBC) is established
as an institution in line with the African Union Assembly Decision (Assembly\/AU\/Dec.
4(XVIII)) of 2012 on Boosting Intra African trade and Fast Tracking the Establishment of
the African Continental Free Trade Area.

CHINA COUNCIL FOR THE PROMOTION OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE (CCPIT) BEIJING <\/strong>SUB-COUNCIL<\/strong>
CCPIT Beijing, a foreign economic and trade organization composed of representative
figures, enterprises, associations and groups in Beijing\u2019s economic and trade circle, is a
mass organization managed in reference to the Civil Service Law, and a member of
international organizations, i.e. the permanent member of the World Trade Center
Association and the Beijing Workstation of UNIDO. Its tenet is promoting foreign trade,
promoting utilization of foreign investment, promoting introduction of advanced
technologies, management and talent, as well as promoting Sino-foreign economic and
technological cooperation and exchanges in various forms.

EASTERN AFRICA FARMERS FEDERATION (EAFF)<\/strong>
The Eastern African Farmers Federation was formed in 2001 and its chapter registered in
member countries. The formation of Eastern Africa Farmers Federation was out of the
conviction and foresight by the founding leaders to address issues of interest to farmers at
all levels i.e. national, regional, continental and at global levels. EAFF is a non-political, non-profit and a democratic apex organization of all Farmers of Eastern Africa. Its role is to
voice legitimate concerns and interests of farmers of the region with the aim of enhancing
regional cohesiveness and social-economic status of the farmers. The Federation, apart
from voicing views and demands of the farmers on crosscutting issues will also endeavor to
promote regional integration of the farmers through trade and good neighborliness. Its
vision is to see a prosperous and cohesive farming community in Eastern Africa, while its
mission is to represent, lobby and advocate for Eastern Africa farmers interests and build
their capacities.

FORUM OF ORGANIZATIONS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS IN BURUNDI<\/strong>
(FOPABU)<\/strong>
FOPABU is an OTA (Organization of Associative Type), otherwise called ASBL (non-profit
association), of Burundian law. It was created in July 2009 (see our statutes). The
organization is legally recognized and operational since October 2012. Agricultural
producers in Burundi are able to promote and protect their rights and socio-professional
interests and to ensure the security and food sovereignty of the country and its
inhabitants. The vision of development constitutes the main lines of force guiding the
action of FOPABU-IA. It ensures the backbone of its strategy, with a view to coherence and
continuity, to meet the social purpose that presided over the creation of our organization.

KENYA UNION OF SAVINGS AND CREDIT CO-OPERATIVES (KUSSCO)<\/strong>
As the voice and lobbyists for Savings and Credit Cooperatives in Kenya, KUSCCO have
been at the forefront of efforts to form and develop strong and viable SACCOs. Key roles at
KUSCCO – as the umbrella body for SACCOs – are mainly advocacy and representation. In
addition, it offer SACCOs and other cooperatives financial and technical assistance, tailored
to largely benefit the middle and low income earners both in Kenya\u2019s rural and urban
areas. This is a significant fraction of Kenya\u2019s population that drives the country\u2019s economy
through the small and medium enterprise (SME) engine. KUSSCO is aware of the many
challenges facing SACCOs in Kenya, which includes, among others, competition from
commercial banks in Kenya, insufficient capital base, lack of or slow rate of Information
Technology (IT) adoption, and inefficient loan pricing strategies. These problems are being
addressed to strengthen the cooperative movement in Kenya.

NORTHERN CORRIDOR TRANSIT AND TRANSPORT COORDINATION AUTHORITY<\/strong>
IN MOMBASA)<\/strong>
The Northern Corridor is a multimodal trade route linking the landlocked countries of the
Great Lakes Region with the Kenyan maritime sea port of Mombasa. The Northern Corridor
Transit and Transport Agreement (NCTTA) is a treaty coupled with 11 protocols signed in
1985 and revised in 2007 for regional cooperation with a view of facilitating interstate and
transit trade, between the Member States of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo,
Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. South Sudan acceded to the Agreement in 2012.

ASIAN-AFRICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (AACCI)<\/strong>
Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI), Foundation is registered in the
state of Delaware, USA as a private, non-stock corporation to act as a trade & business
promoting chamber supporting SMEs and industries by means of representing them as
bilateral chamber for the Asian and African region and help them to build better economic
growth and sustainable business. This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable,
religious or educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code. To translate that vision into reality, the founding members of AACCI set to
create transnational corporations, which would have presence in all associated member
countries and whose capital would be built by nationals of all 102 prospective member
countries. AACCI is now developed as a transnational chamber working in conjunction and
affiliation with other National & Regional Chamber partners dedicated to spreading the
support for trade, business & investment. Asian African Chamber of Commerce & Industry Foundation is registered under Section 8 of Companies Act. 2013, Government of India as non-profit organization as a Global Secretariat Hub.

ETHIOPIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & SECTORAL ASSOCIATIONS (ECCSA)<\/strong>
The concept of Chamber of Commerce was introduced to Ethiopia for the first time in 1943.
The need for its establishment basically emanated from the economic crisis occurred
during that time. The establishment of the Chamber of Commerce was seen as a solution
to address the distribution of scarce commodities such as cotton, yarn, and woolen
products. Members of the Chamber of Commerce were allowed to distribute those scarce
commodities to stabilize the market. The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral
Associations (ECCSA) is an apex organization of Chambers and Sectoral Associations in
Ethiopia. It has eighteen members including nine Regional Chambers of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, two City Chambers of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, one
National Chamber of Sectoral Associations and six Sectoral Associations organized at
national level.

FEDERATION DES ENTREPRISES DU CONGO (FEC)<\/strong>
FEC is a local organization of businesses and companies in Kinshasa with the intention to
develop and further the interests of local companies and businesses in Democratic
Republic of Congo. Many businesses are international operating companies with offices in
Democratic Republic of Congo. Members of a Chamber of Commerce are usually
international and local operating companies, such as lawyers, property developers, tourism
companies, airlines, manufacturing companies, import and export businesses, banks,
finance companies, legal advisors, IT and electronics manufacturers etc. Chambers of
Commerce main activities are, among others, safeguarding business interests and sharing
business experiences and business interests, contact with governments, civil society, local
media and the press and organizing trade shows and events.

FEDERATION OF WEST AFRICAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (FEWACCI)<\/strong>
The Federation of West Africa Chambers of Commerce was set-up in 1976 by the
presidents of the 15 chambers of commerce of the West African region with a view to
giving the business community of the region a voice and a tool to foster development and
reduce poverty.To translate that vision into reality, the founding members of FEWACCI set
to create transnational corporations, which would have presence in all ECOWAS member
countries and whose capital would be built by nationals of all 15 member countries. It was
in that context and in recognition of the important role that access to finance plays in the
growth of businesses that the FEWACCI founding fathers thought that the first
transnational corporation to establish should be a regional bank, that would understand
the need of the people and that would dedicate itself to meeting those needs. FEWACCI is
currently promoting a regional maritime company, the West Africa Sealink Company to
provide reliable and affordable maritime transport services to business operators in order
to increase intra-Community trade.

FEDERATION OF INDIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE & <\/strong>INDUSTRY (FICCI)<\/strong>
Established in 1927, FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organization in India. Its
history is closely interwoven with India’s struggle for independence, its industrialization,
and its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies. A non-
government, not-for-profit organization, FICCI is the voice of India’s business and industry.
From influencing policy to encouraging debate, engaging with policy makers and civil
society, FICCI articulates the views and concerns of industry. It serves its members from the
Indian private and public corporate sectors and multinational companies, drawing its
strength from diverse regional chambers of commerce and industry across states, reaching
out to over 2,50,000 companies. FICCI provides a platform for networking and consensus
building within and across sectors and is the first port of call for Indian industry, policy
makers and the international business community.

GUJARAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (GCCI)<\/strong>
The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry [GCCI] works to create and sustain an
environment conducive to the growth of industry and trade in Gujarat, partnering both of
them through advisory processes. With 4000 direct members which include over 200 Trade
and Industry Associations and leading Chambers of Commerce of the State, GCCI is
growing to serve and serving to grow. It is affiliated with apex bodies like Federation of
Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry [FICCI], Indian National Committee of
International Chamber of Commerce [ICC], All India Organization of Employers [AIOE], and
the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry [ASSOCHAM]. In its efforts to promote
economic growth of the Country and the State, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and
Industry has, over the years, initiated several focused and meaningful dialogues covering
various micro and macroeconomic aspects of development.

NATIONAL BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN WASHINGTON USA (NBCC)<\/strong>
The National Black Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in Washington, DC in March
1993. The NBCC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization dedicated to the
economic empowerment of African American communities. 140 affiliated chapters are
locally based throughout the nation as well as international affiliate chapters based in
Bahamas, Brazil, Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, France, Botswana, Cameroon and Jamaica and
businesses as well as individuals who may have chosen to be direct members with the
national office. In essence, the NBCC is a 501(c) 3 corporation that is on the leading edge of educating and training Black communities on the need to participate vigorously in this great capitalistic society known as America. The NBCC reaches 100,000 Black owned
businesses. There are 2.6 million Black owned businesses in the United States. Black
businesses account for over $138 billion in revenue each year according to the US Bureau
of Census. The National Black Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to economically
empowering and sustaining African American communities through entrepreneurship and
capitalistic activity within the United States.

UNION OF ARAB CHAMBERS (UAC)<\/strong>
The Union is an independent non-governmental, non-profit regional legal entity, where its
name was modified to be \u201cUnion of Arab Chambers\u201d (UAC) at the 120th Session of the
Union\u2019s Council happened in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman on March 26, 2016. The
awareness of the Arab Businessmen for the importance of the regional cooperation as a
tool to advance the Arab Economic Development was the main motive behind the
foundation of this Union so, the Union was the first Arab Economic Institution to work at
the non-governmental level in order to promote the idea of economic cooperation and
integration among the Arab Countries. The Union has played an important role in the
process of promoting the trade cooperation between the Arab Countries at the levels of
commerce and investment. The Union was always the first to call for the foundation of the
Common Arab Market and developing the general principles that should be implemented
in order to achieve Economic Unity between the Arab Countries.

PHD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (PHDCCI)<\/strong>
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1905, is a proactive National Apex
Chamber working at the grass-root level and with strong national and international
linkages.The Chamber acts as a catalyst in the promotion of industry, trade and
entrepreneurship. PHD Chamber, through its research-based policy advocacy role,
positively impacts the economic growth and development of the nation.PHD Chamber is
more than an organisation of the business community, as it lives by the chosen motto In
Communitys Life & Part of It and contributes significantly to socio-economic development
and capacity building in several fields. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry(PHDCCI) is
one of the Premier Chambers in India to have been accredited with \u201cDiamond Grade\u201d by
NABET(QCI), at national and international level. PHDCCI is a National Apex Chamber having
its international office at Bahrain for 6 GCC countries, with 130,000 companies as its
members base, a total focus on the development of small and medium businesses. PHDCCI has co-opted National and International Industry Associations and Organisations
through over 100 MoUs signed between the parties.

INDIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (ICC)<\/strong>
Founded in 1925, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the leading and only
National Chamber of Commerce operating from Kolkata, and one of the most pro-
active and forward-looking Chambers in the country today. Its membership spans
some of the most prominent and major industrial groups in India. ICC\u2019s forte is its
ability to anticipate the needs of the future, respond to challenges, and prepare the
stakeholders in the economy to benefit from these changes and opportunities. Set
up by a group of pioneering industrialists led by Mr. G D Birla, the Indian Chamber
of Commerce was closely associated with the Indian Freedom Movement, as the
first organized voice of indigenous Indian Industry. One of the most pro-active
Chambers in India, the ICC has been privileged to interact and host several of the

The Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) is an independent, non-profit
and non-partisan organization established in 2009 to serve Africa\u2019s business by promoting
for public policies that will foster continental economic integration, competitiveness, and
sustainable growth. PACCI offers its constituents a wide range of services including
advocacy for the creation of the African Economic Community, capacity building, and
business networking. With more than 50 national chambers of commerce acting as its local
focal point, PACCI is the largest business association in Africa, and the continent\u2019s most
influential. Its strength lies not just in its numbers but in its commitment to increase the
prosperity of Africa by promoting and encouraging the growth of existing businesses and
